Spaans leren / Learn Dutch
In today’s globalized world, communication is increasingly important. Knowledge of languages means communication, intercultural relations, entrepreneurship and tourism. Mastering other languages makes us more competitive and gives us the opportunity to improve personally and professionally.
Why learn with us?
Learning a new language goes beyond knowing vocabulary and grammar rules. Understanding the customs and ways of thinking of a culture develops empathy, increasing our interest in learning that language. The cultural approach makes our lessons interesting and enjoyable.

Why José to teach Spanish and Dutch
Her deep knowledge of Hispanic and Dutch cultures, and her fluency in Spanish, Dutch, and English are some of her greatest strengths:
The Netherlands, her country of origin which gives her a natural and deep understanding of Dutch culture.
Spain, through her marriage, which allowed her direct and prolonged immersion in the culture and language.
Venezuela, the country where she lived for 42 years and where she always worked in a markedly international environment. (From 1975 to 1978, she took Spanish courses in at the University of the Andes in Mérida, Venezuela).
She has trained staff from European embassies (including the Netherlands), the United States, and other international organizations, demonstrating her ability to work with high-level participants with demanding linguistic and cultural needs.
This combination makes her a person with great intercultural sensitivity, capable of understanding, accompanying, and connecting with people from very different cultural backgrounds.
For more than 25 years, she worked at CEVAM (Centro Venezolano Americano de Mérida), a bi-national institution and benchmark in Venezuela for teaching English and Spanish. There, she also served as Director of Operations, responsible for:
- Curriculum design and updating
- Selection and development of teaching materials
- Teacher training and preparation
- Ensuring the academic quality of courses
During her time at CEVAM, she also participated in advanced language teaching conferences in the United States, Canada, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and Venezuela, always keeping up to date with modern teaching methodologies.
Since arriving in the Netherlands, she has participated in courses and workshops related to teaching Spanish, sponsored by the Instituto Cervantes in Spain.
Over the past eight years, she has taught Spanish courses to Dutch people and she has successfully accompanied expats in learning Dutch and in understanding the fundamental cultural nuances of the Dutch environment.
